A Pinelands Golf Club Wedding in Hammonton, NJ: A Relaxed Outdoor Celebration Surrounded by Nature
April 23, 2026

I’m Alex Kaplan, a wedding photographer and videographer based in New Milford, NJ, serving Northern NJ, NYC, and the Hudson Valley. For over 30 years, I’ve helped couples enjoy their day without feeling rushed — while I quietly capture the real moments, natural portraits, and genuine emotions you’ll still love decades from now.

There’s a calm that settles over you the moment you pull into Pinelands Golf Club. The drive in is lined with trees, the fairways stretch open in every direction, and before the day even starts, it already feels like the right place to get married.
Kaylee and Nick chose Pinelands Golf Club in Hammonton, NJ for exactly that reason. They weren’t looking for a ballroom. They wanted something natural, unhurried, and genuinely theirs. This day delivered on every count.

Kaylee and Nick have a dynamic together that makes a photographer’s job easy. They’re playful, genuine, and completely uninterested in performing for the camera. That kind of energy shows up directly in the photographs because it’s real.
The day had a rhythm to it. Space between moments, room to breathe, time to actually feel what was happening instead of racing through it.

I’ve photographed weddings across Northern New Jersey for over 30 years, including a wide range of New Jersey wedding venues I’ve photographed from waterfront estates to historic manor houses. Pinelands stands out because the landscape does a lot of the work. The open fairways, the wooded edges, the pine-lined cart paths, the ceremony grounds- each area of the property gives you something visually distinct without going far.

The triangle arch that Kaylee and Nick chose fit the space perfectly. Warm wood tones, teal fabric draping, and navy and white floral arrangements that complemented the landscape without competing with it. From a photography standpoint, it’s an ideal frame.

Guest experience benefits from the open layout too. The spacious ceremony setup, the natural tree line, the clear sightlines from every angle- it all adds up to a setting that feels both intimate and expansive at the same time.
If you’re looking at Pinelands or any outdoor golf club venue in New Jersey, a few things are worth locking down early:

We shot portraits before the ceremony. That single timing decision changed the energy of everything that followed. By the time Kaylee and Nick walked down the aisle, they had already had their quiet moments together, the nerves had settled, and they were completely ready.
The ceremony moved beautifully. And the recessional was full energy- hands raised, guests on their feet, rose petals scattered across the grass aisle.

After the ceremony we took the golf cart out across the property. The ring reveal happened right there in the middle of the crowd – just the two of them, hands up, grinning.
Then the portraits. We moved from the fairway to the greens to the pine-lined cart paths as the afternoon light started to shift and warm up.

The first kiss had everything going for it. The geometric arch framing them perfectly, the wedding party’s genuine reactions- bridesmaids beaming, groomsmen applauding- and just enough light breaking through the overcast sky. Some frames come together without any help from the photographer.

The golf cart shoe detail is one of my favorites from this day. Kaylee had “He’s Mine” written on the sole of her shoe, and his read “She’s Mine.” We caught it mid-kiss while they were sitting together in the cart. The kind of personal touch that makes a real wedding story feel entirely different from anything staged or generic.

And then the lift. Nick holding Kaylee off the ground mid-kiss, her veil catching what was left of the light, her dress trailing behind her. Shot in black and white because sometimes color gets in the way of a moment.

Build more portrait time into your plan than you think you’ll need. This property rewards it. The open fairways, the wooded edges, the ceremony arch area, the cart paths- every section has its own light and its own feel. More time means more variety, and more variety means a final gallery with real range.
Don’t skip the in-between moments. Some of the best images from Kaylee and Nick’s day came during transitions- the walk between locations, a quiet beat before guests moved to cocktail hour, the golf cart ride across the property. Those aren’t filler. They’re often the real story.

About Me — But Really, It’s About You
The most meaningful wedding photos never come from stiff poses.
They come from the quiet laugh you didn’t think anyone saw.
The look on your partner’s face during the vows.
The warmth of your people all around you.
I’ve been doing this for over 30 years — and I still get nervous before every wedding.
Not because I’m uncertain, but because I know how much it matters.
After photographing hundreds of weddings over the past few decades, I’ve learned something simple:
The best photos happen when you feel fully present.
That’s why I work calmly, behind the scenes — guiding when it helps, then stepping back when the real moments unfold. I’m always anticipating what’s next, so you never have to think about a thing.
My goal is simple: to help you relax, feel confident, and walk away with photos that feel like you — not a filtered version of someone else’s idea of perfect.
Most of my couples say the same thing:
“We’re so glad we didn’t have to worry.”
