I’m Alex Kaplan, a wedding photographer and videographer based in New Milford, NJ, serving Northern NJ, NYC, and the Hudson Valley. For over 30 years, I’ve helped couples enjoy their day without feeling rushed — while I quietly capture the real moments, natural portraits, and genuine emotions you’ll still love decades from now.

When Maria and Aaron chose Rockleigh Country Club for their Jewish wedding celebration, they picked one of Northern New Jersey’s most stunning venues. As a Northern New Jersey wedding photographer who’s worked at dozens of venues across the tri-state area, I can tell you that Rockleigh Country Club consistently delivers elegant spaces, incredible service, and those picture-perfect backdrops couples dream about. This springtime wedding had everything- from emotional Jewish traditions to a reception that kept everyone dancing until the very end.
Maria and Aaron’s love story brought together two families with warmth, laughter, and beautiful traditions. Aaron’s quiet confidence balanced Maria’s radiant energy perfectly- you could see how naturally they fit together from the moment I started photographing them. Their spring wedding showcased everything I love about documenting celebrations at this iconic Northern NJ venue.

The day started with Maria surrounded by her bridesmaids, and the excitement was palpable. Her bridesmaid helped her into her lace gown, and you could feel the anticipation building with every button fastened.

Maria’s fitted lace gown with delicate beading caught the light beautifully, and her bouquet- a stunning arrangement of white roses and orchids- complemented her classic bridal look perfectly.

Meanwhile, Aaron and his groomsmen brought that perfect mix of nerves and excitement. I love capturing that moment when the groom puts on his jacket and it really hits him- he’s about to get married.

Aaron and his crew looked sharp in their dark suits with pops of blue- the classic look never goes out of style. The coordination with Maria’s navy bridesmaid dresses was spot-on.

One of the biggest advantages of choosing Rockleigh Country Club for your wedding is the variety of outdoor spaces. The spring blooms were in full effect for Maria and Aaron’s celebration, giving us incredible natural backdrops throughout the property.

The bridesmaids looked stunning in navy walking through the tree-lined paths- these candid moments are what make a wedding album tell a real story.
The grand colonnade is one of Rockleigh’s most photographed features, and for good reason. This architectural showstopper provides the perfect backdrop for both large group shots and intimate family portraits.

We captured Maria and Aaron throughout Rockleigh’s property- from the blooming spring gardens to the romantic gazebo- and their genuine connection shines through in every frame.

That moment framed by blooming pink spring flowers? That’s wall-worthy.
The bridal party portraits under the rustic wooden gazebo captured everyone’s personalities- relaxed, laughing, and genuinely excited.

Once we moved inside, the elegance of Rockleigh Country Club’s ballroom took center stage. The double staircase, crystal chandeliers, arched windows, and architectural details- this is why couples choose Rockleigh for their Northern NJ wedding.

Maria and Aaron honored beautiful Jewish traditions throughout their wedding, creating meaningful moments I was honored to capture. Having photographed hundreds of Jewish weddings across Northern New Jersey and beyond, I understand how important it is to document these traditions with both reverence and artistry.
The ketubah signing brought close family together for an intimate ceremony before the reception.

And then came that magical moment right after they signed- the first kiss as a married couple, with family cheering them on. These are the moments that give me chills every single time.

The reception at Rockleigh Country Club was spectacular from start to finish. The transformed ballroom with gorgeous lighting set the stage for an unforgettable celebration.

Those ring bearers took their job very seriously- absolutely adorable!
The challah ceremony was one of the evening’s most meaningful moments. Maria and Aaron cut the traditional braided bread together, surrounded by their parents and rabbi, representing abundance and their commitment to building a Jewish home together.

The speeches hit that perfect balance of heartfelt and hilarious. Aaron’s brother had everyone cracking up with childhood stories while Aaron simultaneously laughed and looked slightly mortified.

The first dance was beautiful and romantic, then the live band kicked things into high gear and the dance floor never cleared.

The hora was pure joy- watching Maria and Aaron lifted up in chairs, kissing while their friends and family danced in circles around them. These are the moments I love capturing.
The parent dances were equally touching. You could see how much it meant to both families to have this moment.

At one point, Maria even grabbed the bass from one of the musicians for a photo- that spontaneous energy is what makes a reception unforgettable.

About Me — But Really, It’s About You
The most meaningful wedding photos never come from stiff poses.
They come from the quiet laugh you didn’t think anyone saw.
The look on your partner’s face during the vows.
The warmth of your people all around you.
I’ve been doing this for over 30 years — and I still get nervous before every wedding.
Not because I’m uncertain, but because I know how much it matters.
After photographing hundreds of weddings over the past few decades, I’ve learned something simple:
The best photos happen when you feel fully present.
That’s why I work calmly, behind the scenes — guiding when it helps, then stepping back when the real moments unfold. I’m always anticipating what’s next, so you never have to think about a thing.
My goal is simple: to help you relax, feel confident, and walk away with photos that feel like you — not a filtered version of someone else’s idea of perfect.
Most of my couples say the same thing:
“We’re so glad we didn’t have to worry.”
Alex made everything feel effortless — and the photos are incredible.”
Free parts of our entire wedding.
