Sheraton Parsippany Hotel Wedding: Jocelyn & Kevin’s Elegant New Jersey Celebration

May 5, 2026

Joyful bride and groom walking hand in hand after ceremony at Sheraton Parsippany Hotel New Jersey wedding

Some weddings feel effortless from the moment they begin. Jocelyn and Kevin’s celebration at the Sheraton Parsippany Hotel was exactly that kind of day. From the warm energy in the ceremony room to the quiet portraits in the lobby afterward, everything moved at its own rhythm and stayed calm from start to finish.

I have photographed hundreds of weddings across New Jersey and the NYC metro area, and there is something specific about a well-planned hotel wedding that gives couples and their guests permission to simply be present. No scrambling between locations. No weather uncertainty. Just the people who matter most, together in one beautiful space. If you want to hear more before reaching out, what my clients say gives a good sense of how I approach every wedding I photograph.

Why Sheraton Parsippany Hotel Is a Beautiful NJ Wedding Venue

I walked into the ceremony room about forty minutes before guests arrived and did what I always do: stood in the back, watched the light, and figured out where I wanted to be.

It was a spring afternoon, and the light coming through the lobby windows had that particular quality you only get in April and May in New Jersey, soft and directional without being harsh. The wall sconces in the ceremony room added a warm layer on top of it. I did not need to supplement any of it. I just needed to stay out of its way.

The room was smaller than I expected, and that turned out to be exactly right for this couple. The arch they had built at the front, coral roses and white drape against the neutral wall, sat cleanly in the frame from almost any angle in the room. Nothing was fighting anything else.

What the Sheraton Parsippany does well is give you a contained day. Ceremony, portraits, reception, and guest accommodations all under one roof. That sounds logistical, and it is, but it also means the energy in the room stays collected. No one is rushing to a car. No one is recalculating drive times. The guests who had traveled sat down, exhaled, and actually watched the wedding. That calm shows up in the photographs whether you plan for it or not.

The lobby and the corridor near the fireplace gave us portrait locations I did not have to manufacture. The light near the windows, the stone surround on the fireplace, the leather furniture in the sitting area. All of it was already there. I just needed Jocelyn and Kevin to be themselves in it, which they were without any effort. If you are still in the research phase, reading some expert tips in choosing a wedding photographer for an indoor venue like this one is worth your time before you book.

Jocelyn and Kevin’s Ceremony at Sheraton Parsippany

Jocelyn walked down the aisle in a layered ballgown with off the shoulder sleeves and lace detail along the cathedral train. Kevin stood at the front in a white tuxedo jacket over cobalt blue trousers with a matching bow tie and pocket square, and the moment he caught sight of her, his whole face changed. That is the frame a photographer works toward. You position yourself early, read the room, and wait.

The ceremony took place beneath a white arch dressed with coral roses, soft greenery, and flowing white drape. The arch framed the couple against the wall-mounted artwork behind it, and the sconce lighting on either side created a soft, directional quality that worked beautifully without flash. I stayed back and let the space and the moment do their job.

The ring exchange was one of the quieter stretches of the ceremony and one of the richest for photography. Jocelyn held the ring with both hands, her veil falling slightly forward, while Kevin kept a steady hold on her hand and the officiant spoke behind them. That composition with the three of them at the arch is a frame that tells the whole story of the ceremony in a single image.

Before things got underway, there was a moment between Jocelyn and her mother that stopped me. She leaned in close, pressed her cheek against her mother’s, and neither of them moved. You could read everything in that photograph. Those unplanned moments between a bride and the people she loves most are consistently what couples tell me they treasure most when they sit down with their album for the first time.

Real Moments That Defined the Day

I have been doing this for over 30 years and I still cannot always tell you in advance which moment from a given wedding is going to be the one that stays with me. With Jocelyn and Kevin, I could not pick just one. That is not something I say about every wedding.

The first kiss drew the entire room to its feet. Guests were standing, cheering, some with their hands in the air, others holding up phones. Kevin kissed Jocelyn with both arms around her and the coral bouquet still in her hands. The room was fully alive, and the image did not need any direction from me to be complete.

The recessional was just as joyful. Jocelyn’s smile coming down that aisle was the kind that does not require any prompting. Kevin was laughing. Guests were leaning in from both sides. Every frame from that short walk to the back of the room was worth keeping.

The portraits in the hotel lobby that followed were quieter, but just as strong. Kevin kissed Jocelyn’s forehead while she sat holding the bouquet with her eyes closed. The spring light coming through the lobby windows fell across them in a way I could not have planned. The warm tones of the leather furniture, the softness of that afternoon light, the bouquet in her lap. Those are images that will hold up for decades. The wedding party portrait in the corridor, with the bridesmaids in rust satin and the groomsmen in cobalt navy, came together without effort. Everyone was already in a good mood, and it showed.

Planning a Sheraton Parsippany Wedding

One of the practical advantages of getting married at the Sheraton Parsippany is the single building layout. Ceremony, portraits, reception, and guest accommodations all happen in one location. Couples who choose hotel weddings in New Jersey often find the timeline runs more smoothly than expected because there are no travel gaps between venues and no outdoor contingencies to manage.

For photography, the venue rewards advance planning. Jocelyn and Kevin used the ceremony room, the lobby sitting area, the corridor near the fireplace, and a quiet hallway for the more intimate portraits. Identifying those locations ahead of time and communicating them to your photographer means the creative work happens faster and the timeline stays intact.

The bridal party portraits came together easily here as well. The corridor near the lobby offered enough space for the full group and gave the image a clean background without competing elements. Natural light through the lobby windows supplemented everything without any additional gear. If you are planning a wedding in Morris County or the greater Parsippany area, walking the venue with your photographer before the day is one of the most valuable hours you can spend.

What Jocelyn and Kevin’s Day Left Behind

There is a specific kind of wedding where everything is in proportion. The space, the people, the feeling in the room. Jocelyn and Kevin’s celebration at the Sheraton Parsippany Hotel was that. Intimate enough to feel personal. Organized enough to stay relaxed. And full of the kind of genuine moments that hold up when you look back at them years from now.

The photograph of Jocelyn and her mother, the two of them pressed together before the ceremony even began, is the one that keeps pulling me back. It had nothing to do with the venue or the flowers or the dress. It was just two people in a quiet room before everything changed. That is what this work is about.

The Calm Behind the Camera

About Me — But Really, It’s About You

The most meaningful wedding photos never come from stiff poses.
They come from the quiet laugh you didn’t think anyone saw.
The look on your partner’s face during the vows.
The warmth of your people all around you.

I’ve been doing this for over 30 years — and I still get nervous before every wedding.
Not because I’m uncertain, but because I know how much it matters.

After photographing hundreds of weddings over the past few decades, I’ve learned something simple:
The best photos happen when you feel fully present.

That’s why I work calmly, behind the scenes — guiding when it helps, then stepping back when the real moments unfold. I’m always anticipating what’s next, so you never have to think about a thing.

My goal is simple: to help you relax, feel confident, and walk away with photos that feel like you — not a filtered version of someone else’s idea of perfect.

Most of my couples say the same thing:
We’re so glad we didn’t have to worry.”
